About KDS Racing

Hi, this is Kenny Basham. It seems like I’ve always been an auto racing enthusiast, being involved with everything from building and tuning cars to chassis work. So when got into ATV racing as hobby, I got the ‘fever’ for more power.

However, I became frustrated by the lack of thoroughly engineered performance parts. So I began to ’science out’ or re-engineer parts for my personal ATV, and KDS Racing was born!

I live in Virginia, an area where I’m surrounded by pro-racing engine builders on almost every level of racing, and I’m very fortunate to have this amount of talent around me and to be able to implement their skills and ideas.

Science It Out

There’s a lot of differing ideas about how to best tune any engine part. Balance is needed when tuning components. For example, sometime peak horsepower comes at expense of rideability.

You have to apply theory to a science, and then test to see if your theories really work. Sooner or later that component has to come off the test bench and onto race track.
